I have been running 10 Week Introduction to Makeup Artistry Courses since 2001, training many students who are now also in the industry working as professional Makeup Artists. I also offer up skilling and further training to other professional Makeup Artists and Beauty Therapists and people already in business who are wanting to learn some new tricks of the trade.

I pride myself on being a professional and supportive tutor, who is there for my students, just a phone call or an email away as support for the rest of their careers. As a makeup artist you are always learning, fashion is always changing I provide my students with a generous makeup kit including a Professional Brush Kit and Professional Makeup Products.

You do not have to have prior knowledge to come along to one of my Introduction to Makeup Artistry Courses, just simply come along, gain some important skills, meet some like minded people and find your way to the beginning of what could be a wonderful and rewarding career.

Introduction to Makeup Artistry 10 Week Course
If you are busy during the week days and have some time to study your passions after work you may like to come along to my Evening Course. This is a fun 10 week course held on a Wednesday evening from 6 – 8pm. Generally the groups are between 6 – 10. I have a professional photographer who will document your images 8 out of the 10 weeks and put the images onto a disc for you in a portfolio style.

Advanced Makeup Artistry Course
I am now happy to announce that I am offering an Advanced Makeup Course, the prerequisite to this is that you must have completed the Introduction to Makeup Artistry Course. Come along and build on your skills, learn the tips that mean you can now confidently apply period makeup… introduce textiles to your makeup applications to stretch your imagination, feel confident doing makeup on people of all nationalities and learn some special fx makeup techniques.

Course Content Includes:

10 week Advanced Course Content

1. Introduction and Product Knowledge
Finding out where the students are at with prior knowledge, going over the basics. refresher

2. Makeup for Asian Skin (please bring suitable model if you are able to)

3. Makeup for Maori/Polynesian Skin (please bring suitable model if you are able to)

4. Decade Makeup 1980s

5. Decade Makeup 1970s

6. Decade Makeup 1960s

7. Decade Makeup 1950s/ 1940s (Marilyn Monroe)

8. Decade Makeup 1930s and 1920s (flapper)

9. Creating your own character incorporating paua, beads, feathers, lace and any other goodies that inspire you and that you would like to use.

10. Special effects, black eye, graze, bruise, bullet hole.

If you learn at your best potential one on one I do offer One on One tuition, which can be weekends or week days, contact me about this to find out more, we can sort out a time that suits us both. I have found that students that live outside of Christchurch often take this option as you learn the complete course within two full days. Please note that I am happy to travel to your location of choice.

Often I am asked about Teaching in different areas of New Zealand. I am happy to do this depending on the number of students that wish to attend.
